    Fake Designer Gear

I am looking into retailing and purchasing and I came across sites with decent designer clothes and based on the prices that they shift for on ebay, I believe that I could make a decent profit on them.  I will need to establish my profile on ebay first, but I am sure I can tackle that issue over time. One thing that puts me off these sites is that they are only displaying email addresses @hotmail and @yahoo, rather than @companyname for example. They are also using mobile telephone numbers which is a big indication to me that they are probably nothing short of a business that someone has set up as a hobby, or has not yet managed to turn it into a proper business as yet.

As I am always naturally skeptical of businesses that do not appear professional or orthodox, I would like to know what everyone thinks of the likely authenticicity. They claim to sell designer brands such as evisu, hugo boss, stone island and such other brands that you would generally recognize as house hold names. I was surprised that a company that has yet to get an office would be buying in sufficient bulk to be able to pass savings onto people like me who are not looking to buy big either.

I would know what a fake looked like when i seen one, but I will not know until that point. What steps should I follow to ensure I protect my interests, whilst also not passing up a good deal with I should have been so lucky as to find one :-)

i am glad to see you have managed to exercise due prudence where this is concerned. I suppose this is the advantage of forums. Where this is concerned, you will generally find that large brand names will only give distribution rights to one distribtor. In this case, we are talking about brands that this will almost certainly apply to. If you are wanting to sell in small quantities in the kind of market you are aiming at, you will need to be signing deals with retailers that have sufficient privelages that they are allowed to pass onto you.

Getting started in wholesale is a lot about having money and/or anticiates sales volume. You really need to be buying from retailers willing to sell wholesale or alternatively deal with the appointed distributor.
